Founded in 1990, Dorothy Ley Hospice (DLH) is a volunteer-based charity that provides end-of-life care to people with life-limiting illnesses. DLH is located in Etobicoke and mainly serves clients from the Greater Toronto Area. Its main charitable programs are Residential Care, Community Support, and Education. In F2022, the charity spent $2.4m on programs.
In F2022, Dorothy Ley Hospice spent 61% of program spending on Residential Care. The charity operates a 24-hour residential facility where patients receive medical care in a home-like environment. The facility has ten beds, a dining area, a playroom for children, a den, and a living room. DLH offers residential hospice care to people who are over 16 years old and are expected to live less than three months.
