About Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Canada:

Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Canada is a 1-star charity. The Church is not financially transparent and reports very little about its programs and results. Before you give, read Charity Intelligence's report.

Finances

Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Canada is not financially transparent. Financial analysis is based on unaudited and unreviewed financial statements provided by the CRA. The financial statements received from the CRA are incomplete; they do not include notes, nor a cash flow statement.

Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Canada is a Major 100 charity, one of Canada’s largest charities in terms of donations. It received $190m in cash donations in F2021. Church of Jesus Christ’s administrative costs are 2% of revenues (less investment income), and the Church does not report fundraising costs. For every dollar donated, 98 cents go to the cause, which is outside Ci’s reasonable range for overhead spending. When a charity reports overhead spending of less than 5%, it sometimes suggests that the numbers are inaccurate or misreported.

Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Canada has $125m in reserve funds. The Church could cover 83% or almost ten months of its annual program costs with reserves.

This charity report is an update that has been sent to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for review. Changes and edits may be forthcoming.
