About Ryan's Well:

Founded in 2001, Ryan’s Well Foundation (Ryan’s Well) is a Canadian charity whose mission is “Ryan’s Well Foundation, together with our local partners, provides access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene education in the poorest regions of developing countries. We educate and motivate people to share our passion and contribute to achieving change in the world.” According to Ryan’s Well, nearly one billion people in the world do not have access to safe water. Additionally, 2.5 billion people live without proper sanitation, and lack of sanitation is the world’s leading cause of infection. Ryan’s Well says that 88% of all diseases are caused by either unsafe water or poor sanitation and hygiene.

Ryan’s Well runs three main programs: Build, Education, and Motivation. In F2018, Build programs made up 84% of total program spending. Motivation and Education programs made up 9% and 7% of program spending, respectively, in F2018.

Through the Build program, Ryan’s Well completed 112 water projects and six latrines in Burkina Faso, Ghana, Haiti, Kenya, and Uganda in F2018. This is a 14% increase in the number of water projects completed, and a 90% decrease in the number of latrines built in F2016. Since it began, Ryan’s Well has completed 1,277 water projects and built 1,251 latrines in 16 countries, which gave 924,010 people access to clean water.

Financial Review:
