Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada – Quebec Division (MS Quebec), established in 1948, works to improve the quality of life of people living with multiple sclerosis (MS) and support research toward better treatments. MS is the most common neurological disease affecting the central nervous system. It can cause fatigue, mobility and balance problems, vision issues, pain, sensory changes, and cognitive and mood changes. The charity reports that Canada has one of the highest rates of MS in the world, with an estimated 90,000 people living with the disease. The cause of MS is currently unknown, and there is currently no cure.

Research was MS Quebec’s largest program in 2025 and represented 55% of program spending ($1.3m). The charity funds research into the causes, risk factors, diagnosis, and treatment of MS. In 2025, the charity held the Sommet Québécois sur la Sclérose en Plaques (Quebec Summit on MS), where attendees met Quebec researchers and learned about recent MS research. It also collaborated with Innodem Neurosciences to help bring AI-based technology for tracking eye movements and neurological biomarkers to people with MS. This technology can help improve MS care by detecting subtle neurological changes earlier, supporting more accurate and timely diagnosis, and enabling better monitoring of disease progression over time.

Client Services received 34% or $789k of 2025 program spending. MS Quebec provides information, support, and practical services to people affected by MS. In 2025, its MS Navigator service received more than 1,700 information requests from people across Quebec, while more than 1,000 people watched its Hear from the Experts webinars. Through its Juripop program, more than 100 people received free legal assistance, including nearly 150 hours of support covering employment, civil, family, housing, and insurance matters.

Education and Advocacy accounted for $273k (12%) of program spending in 2025. The charity provides educational resources and advocates for policies that reduce barriers for people living with MS.
