OVERVIEW

About WCPD Foundation:

WCPD Foundation is a 1-Star Charity. It is not financially transparent. It also has a low results reporting grade, meaning it reports very little on the results of its programs or activities. Before you give, read Charity Intelligence's report.

Founded in 2006, WCPD (Wealth Creation, Preservation & Donation Inc.) Foundation is a public donor advised fund. It helps Canadian donors reduce their tax burden and distribute their donations to their chosen charities using flow-through shares. It also facilitates legacy giving using a similar model.

Since 1954, to encourage investment in exploratory mining operations, the CRA has offered a 100% tax deduction on shares in certain junior mining companies. WCPD Foundation purchases these shares on behalf of its clients and then immediately sells the shares at a discount. It then directs the proceeds to the donor’s chosen charities. The donor can deduct 100% of the money spent to purchase the shares and then the donor receives a tax receipt for its donation of flow-through shares. This model allows donors to decrease the amount they pay in taxes.

Since founding, the WCPD Foundation has distributed over 10,000 cheques to charities. It has facilitated over $350m in giving.
