About Fondation Hotel-Dieu de Levis:
Founded in 1980, Fondation Hotel-Dieu de Levis (FHDL) raises funds for Hotel Dieu Hospital in Levis Quebec. FHDL aims to improve the care and services provided by the hospital. FHDL purchases equipment to improve the diagnosis, treatment, and care of patients. The charity also supports research, education, and construction of new infrastructure at the hosptial. The charity does not provide a breakdown of its spending on its programs.
In F2021, the charity purchased specialized equipment for the hospital. This includes a cardiac ultrasound machine and a nasolaryngoscope, a small telescope used for nose and throat procedures. Fondation Hotel-Dieu de Levis also helped to build a vascular unit in the hospital for cardiology patients.
To support research and education, FHDL granted bursaries to ten nursing fellowships and scholarships to three doctoral students in healthcare research in F2021.
One of the charity’s long-term projects, Maison Dessercom, is a low-cost accommodation service that will allow families and patients to stay closer to the hospital. The site is planning on beginning to accommodate families in 2021.
