About Gideons International In Canada:

Established in 1911, Gideons International in Canada's (Gideons) mission is to "communicate the gospel of Jesus Christ, through personal evangelism and Scripture distribution, in Canada and worldwide, so that people may receive eternal life."

Gideons distributes complete Bibles and New Testaments, which usually include the books of Psalms and Proverbs from the Old Testament. These Scriptures are either given directly to individuals, or placed in designated public locations such as libraries, hotels or prisons. The aim is to make the Scriptures accessible in areas where a large number of people may be searching for answers, and may encounter the Word of God.

Gideons is involved in projects both in Canada and internationally. Its ministry was active in 181 countries in F2015, up from 165 countries in F2014. In F2015, Gideons distributed 1,746,859 printed scriptures globally.
