Founded in 1990, Camp Quality Canada (CQ) provides year-round programs to support children with cancer and blood disorders and their families. Children diagnosed with cancer are at risk of long term cognitive and physical side effects, feelings of loneliness, depression, and anxiety. Programs include overnight summer camp and family fun days. There are six camp locations: four in Ontario, one in Manitoba, and one in Alberta. The charity also has a virtual camp, Camp-at-Home, for the fall and winter months. It spent $784k on its programs in 2024. CQ did not break down spending by camp locations.
The overnight camps last five days in August and family fun days occur throughout the year. Activities include fishing, canoeing, arts and crafts, swimming, archery, and camp-wide games. In 2024, CQ reported 2,007 camp experiences (a day at overnight camp, or a family fun day), serving 370 campers. Based on total program spending, Camp Quality Canada spent $3,089 per camper in 2024.
Camp-at-Home occurs monthly for 60 minutes during the fall and winter. Activities include game night or arts and crafts. The charity reported 59 virtual campers in 2024.
