About University of Saskatchewan:
University of Saskatchewan is a 5-star charity. It is financially transparent, has a strong results reporting grade, and has reasonable overhead spending.
Founded in 1967, University of Saskatchewan (USask) is in downtown Saskatoon. According to the Global Institute for Water Security, USask is ranked #1 in water resources research in Canada. The university offers undergraduate, diploma, and certificate programs in over 100 fields of study. Like most universities, USask’s main programs are education and research.
A Charity Intelligence 2023 Top 100 Rated Charity
In F2022, enrolment at University of Saskatchewan totalled 26,155. This included 20,805 undergraduate students, 4,473 graduate students, 587 medical residents, and 290 non-degree students. Of those enrolled, there were 3,374 Indigenous students and 3,345 international students. The university reports that it has 169,000 alumni from over 130 countries.
University of Saskatchewan focuses on six research areas: Agriculture, Energy and Mineral Resources, Indigenous Engagement and Scholarship, One Health, Synchrotron Sciences, and Water Security. The university employed 290 research professionals and postdocs in F2022. USask reports a research intensity of $81,800 per student.

Results and Impact
In the 2021 convocation year, University of Saskatchewan awarded 3,193 bachelor’s degrees, 774 master’s degrees, 440 certificates/diplomas, and 147 doctoral degrees. The university reports an overall retention rate of 85%. The retention rate is 78% for international students and 74% for Indigenous students.
According to a 2015 Economic Impact study, for every dollar given to USask by the government, 50 cents is returned to the public through taxation on economic activity. Additionally, 16,398 jobs, or 3% of all jobs in the province, are directly or indirectly created or retained because of the university. The report also states that 45% of workers with a university degree in Saskatchewan are USask alumni.

University of Saskatchewan received donations of $37.9m in F2022. It also received $631.3m in government funding (60% of revenues) and $274.8m in fees for service revenue (26% of revenues).
