About Brantford Public Library:

The Brantford Public Library’s (BPL) mission is to connect the community to information. BPL conducts various programs for people of all ages. It has a story time program, outreach programs, movie screening and class visit programs for children, computer and genealogy classes for adults and an English conversation café for immigrants to practice English.

In F2011, BPL had 65,932 registered memberships and had 500,000 visits. It answered 61,000 reference questions, over 1m books were checked out, and over 8,600 children visited BPL as part of story time and class programs. The library is technologically improving each year. BPL provides WiFi connection at the library and has access to 11 online databases and 7 catalogues. It also has interlibrary loan service which allows its customers to request books to borrow from libraries across Canada. BPL is in partnership with Wilfrid Laurier University and provides access to over 1m articles to its post-secondary students.
