Founded in 1987, Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver (JFGV) aims to improve the lives of Jewish people in Greater Vancouver, Israel and around the world. Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver provides funding to 39 partner organizations.
JFGV runs an Innovation Grant program to recruit and retain students at two Jewish schools. The grant was also used to help teachers attend a professional development conference. Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver ran the Ride the Rosh Hashanah Train at the PJ Library. The event brought in 400 people for a pre-Rosh Hashanah celebration.
In 2018, JFGV helped 23 local Jewish high school students take part in a two-week trip to Poland and Israel. The purpose of the trip was to learn more about Jewish history. JFGV also ran an annual trip to Northern Israel for grade 8 students at King David High School. According to JFGV, it is one of the largest trips of its kind in North America.
